Lake Wood

Executive Producer and Anchor

Lake Wood joins the NC Ag Weekly team as Executive Producer and Anchor after nearly 5 years in the News Business. Wood has always carried Agriculture close to his heart growing up in the Rural community of Linden on the Cumberland and Harnett county line. Wood grew up working on his fathers Timber operation based in Bunnlevel, North Carolina in Harnett county. Wood loves Animal Agriculture and has always enjoyed working with animals and studying their Behavior. Lake recently attended The University of Edinburgh online receiving his certificate in Animal Behavior and Welfare. He loves educating individuals about the well treatment of animals commonly found in modern day Animal Agriculture operations.

Lake has always had a passion for getting the truth to those who deserve it no matter what obstacles stand in the way. In his free time Wood enjoys traveling, sipping an iced coffee while listening to Dolly Parton and Kacey Musgraves, as well as spending time at beautiful Lake Gaston. Lake often gets the question “is that your real name?” and to that he says yes, Wood’s parents loved spending time at their lake home so much they decided to name their child after it. Lake has lived most of his life in North Carolina only spending a few months living in Southern Virginia where Wood worked as a Multimedia Journalist for a local news station. Wood says the change of scenery was nice but there is no place like home.

Wood is excited to join the NC Ag Weekly team, he says that he can’t wait to get out and meet the people of the NC Agriculture community. “The Agriculture Community is truly one of a kind, the diversity that runs strong in this community just makes it and the industry as a whole more resilient” says Wood. You can catch Lake behind the Anchor desk on NC Ag Weekly starting February 16th.
